Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.

Scope

This policy explains how Base Cardio LLC handles consumer health data under laws that define collecting to include accessing or otherwise processing information on a consumer’s device. Base processes the Apple Health information its features need on your iPhone and Apple Watch. Base Cardio LLC does not receive, remotely store, or have access to that app health data.

Categories of consumer health data

Base may process these categories on your devices when you grant the relevant Apple Health permission:

• Heart rate and resting heart rate.
• Active energy recorded during a workout you start in Base on Apple Watch.
• Date of birth components and derived age.
• Workouts and Apple Exercise Time.
• Your selected or calculated heart-rate range, qualifying minutes, activities, history, trends, goals, streaks, and other Zone 2 progress derived from those categories.

Sources

The sources of consumer health data are you, the settings you choose in Base, and Apple Health on your devices.

Purposes and how data is used

Base processes consumer health data to calculate and display your personal heart-rate range, Zone 2 minutes, activities, weekly progress, history, trends, goals, streaks, widgets, and Apple Watch complications. If you explicitly start a workout in Base on Apple Watch, Base also uses the workout data to provide live feedback and save the completed workout to Apple Health.

Base does not use consumer health data for advertising, tracking, profiling unrelated to these features, data-broker activity, research, or training artificial-intelligence models.

Sharing and recipients

The only category of consumer health data Base discloses outside its local app storage is the completed workout you explicitly start in Base on Apple Watch. Base saves that workout to Apple Health on your device at your direction. It may then be available to Apple and to other apps you authorize to read it through Apple Health, subject to their practices and your Apple Health permissions.

Base Cardio LLC has no affiliates and does not otherwise share consumer health data with itself, service providers, advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties. No hosting, marketing, or email provider receives app health data.

Sale

We do not sell consumer health data.

Your rights

Depending on the law where you live, you may have rights to confirm whether Base collects consumer health data, access or correct it, delete it, or withdraw consent for its collection or sharing. You may change Apple Health permissions in iOS Settings, change eligible settings in Base, delete a Base-recorded workout through Apple Health, or delete Base and its local app data.

To exercise an applicable right, email hello@basecardio.com. Tell us which right you want to exercise and the jurisdiction where you live. Because Base Cardio LLC does not receive app health data, we ordinarily have no server-side consumer health record to provide, correct, or delete. We will explain that limitation rather than request a copy of your health data.

If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing the same address with the subject “Privacy appeal.” A person who did not make the original decision will review the appeal when applicable law requires it. You may also contact your state attorney general or other applicable regulator.

Changes and contact

We will update the effective date when this policy changes and provide additional notice or obtain consent before materially different processing when required by law.
