BASE / HOW WE PUBLISH
Our editorial policy
Clearer information. A steadier weekly habit. No promises that an app can add years to your life.
What our guides are for
Our field journal explains zone 2 concepts, Apple Watch features and practical ways to understand a weekly activity routine. It is general education, not diagnosis, individualized training or medical advice. The guides have not received independent clinical review, and we do not describe them as medically reviewed.
Sources before slogans
We prefer primary studies, official product documentation and public-health guidance. We link claims to the relevant source and identify study type where it matters. A laboratory study is not a long-term health-outcome trial. An association does not establish causation. A multi-part exercise program cannot prove that zone 2 alone produced an outcome.
Podcast remarks can inspire a question, but are not enough to substantiate a health claim. We do not turn a general activity recommendation into a universal zone 2 prescription, or turn a population result into a promise about your lifespan.
Authorship, tools and commercial interests
Base Cardio publishes and is responsible for these guides. We may use AI tools to assist research, organization and drafting; an AI tool is not a medical expert or an independent reviewer. A Base Cardio byline identifies the publisher, not a clinician.
We make the Base app, so this journal has a commercial purpose. Product mentions are identified as Base features or plans. We do not imply that a cited researcher, Apple or a public-health organization endorses the app. Our guides currently contain no paid placements or affiliate links.
Dates and corrections
Publication and modification dates reflect real publishing events, not automatic freshness labels. We revisit product instructions when the underlying software changes and health claims when relevant evidence changes.
Found a mistake? Email hello@basecardio.com with the page link and the issue. Please do not include personal health information. Material corrections should identify what changed and update the page’s modification date.
Examples and privacy
Worked examples and sample weekly schedules are illustrative, not clinical prescriptions or reports about users. We do not upload Apple Health data for content, marketing or research. Our website has no analytics trackers; see the privacy notice for hosting and optional waitlist information.
