Most fitness apps begin by asking you to do more: start a timer, choose an activity, remember another streak, fill in another blank. Base begins somewhere quieter. Your watch already noticed the walk, ride, run, or hike. We simply help you see what those recorded workouts added up to.
We wanted the habit—not another chore.
Zone 2 works best as a steady rhythm. But tracking that rhythm can become its own project. A workout gets recorded in one place, heart rate lives somewhere else, and the useful question—how is my week going?—gets buried beneath charts and daily scores.
Base is our answer. It reads heart rate and recorded workouts from Apple Health, finds the minutes that landed inside your zone 2 range, and gathers them into one friendly weekly trail. There is no workout recorder in Base and no manual logging ritual to maintain.
Base reads the trail you already made.
A week is kinder than seven verdicts.
Daily perfection is a brittle way to build a long-term habit. Real weeks contain weather, travel, family, tired legs, and rest. Base keeps the goal at the end of the week instead of turning every evening into a pass-or-fail moment.
Your aerobic-base goal is built from recorded workouts. Base also keeps useful everyday activity visible as a separate part of the broader picture. That distinction matters: the app shows what contributed without quietly changing the goal or pretending every active minute came from a workout.
The receipt matters as much as the total.
A number without a source is hard to trust. Base pairs the weekly wave with a receipt showing the activities that contributed. Cycling, walking, running, and hiking can all add to the same base. Everyday activity stays clearly labeled. When a day is empty, the space stays empty.
That same week can travel to Apple Watch, Lock Screen, and Home Screen surfaces, so checking progress does not require opening another app. The goal is a useful glance—not another dashboard asking for attention.
Your heart data stays with you.
Base requests strictly read-only Apple Health access. Health calculations happen on your devices. We do not upload your heart-rate history, write data back to Health, create an advertising profile, or require an account inside the app.
The optional website waitlist is separate. If you join it, we use that email only for launch and occasional Base product updates. It never connects to Apple Health data.
We’re finishing the trail.
Base is not available on the App Store yet. We are polishing the last details, validating the experience across iPhone and Apple Watch, and preparing the app for Apple review. We would rather say “coming soon” honestly than send you to a download button that goes nowhere.
If a calmer weekly view of cardio sounds useful, join the waitlist below. We will send one note when Base is ready.
